This course focuses on the sociological research and writing process and fulfills the Writing In the Major (WIM) requirement for Sociology majors. During the quarter, students will develop their capstone project and paper, which are required for Sociology majors and are due 3 weeks before the end of exams in the graduating quarter, and will make progress on their capstone papers. Capstone projects and accompanying papers can be based on the research project developed in SOC 202 or a project developed during the course. Students in the honors program or co-terms in the research track may incorporate their paper into their thesis. The class is designed to support students as they develop an original capstone project during the quarter or a piece of a larger honors or master's thesis. Students are encouraged to enroll in SOC 204B and SOC 204C, which do not fulfill the WIM requirement, in subsequent quarters.
