Preparing for Leadership in Early Childhood I: Ecological Foundations and Systems Thinking (EDUC 336A)

UNITS:3
GRADING:Letter (ABCD/NP)
LEVEL:Graduate
GER:—

This course is the first in a two-course sequence, EDUC 336A and EDUC 336B. These two courses provide a basic foundation in core tenets of the early childhood field. EDUC 336A integrates two distinct but intersection threads: (1) the ecological and community systems foundations of the early childhood field, and (2) the formal systems thinking curriculum drawn from Donella Meadows's and Peter Senge's foundational texts. Bringing these threads together allows students to move fluidly between theoretical frameworks, developing an integrated, multi-level analytical lens from the outset. Students will also engage in leadership journey mapping.
