This course emphasizes current issues and trends in research and practice related to learning differences, neurodiversity, disability, and inclusivity. Through critical engagement with theory and research, students will analyze current issues and trends in learning differences and examine how contexts shape an inclusive society, including considerations for education for individuals with learning differences across the lifespan. The course will examine intersectionality in the experiences of learners with disabilities, the role of research in shaping practices and policies that influence individuals with learning differences, the potential of technology to enhance inclusive experiences for diverse individuals, and emerging directions for future research.
