This course introduces and guides doctoral students in developing proposals for research. We will focus on foundational skills, including posing problems, crafting researchable questions, marshaling theory appropriate to the domain of study, critically reviewing literature, and communicating research objectives. Students have the opportunity to explore a topic area of interest for qualifying papers, dissertation proposals, or other research projects.
