This is a course in the first year of the MSPA program that provides a general introduction to quantitative research methodology and prepares the student interested in a quantitative capstone project. The course focuses on scientific literature search and appraisal, overview of study designs, fundamental statistics, data management, research ethics and health equity considerations for quantitative approaches. Throughout the course, students will work on designing a capstone project using quantitative methodology, culminating in an oral presentation and a written proposal. This course is offered to students enrolled in the Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies program only.
