For genetic counseling students, graduate students in genetics, medical students, residents, and postdoctoral fellows interested in the practice of medical genetics and genomics. In this survey course, many aspects of human molecular genetics and emerging technologies will be introduced by experts in the field. You will learn overarching principles as well as more technical mechanisms and terminology. Topics include molecular genetics priniciples, the human genome, approaches to the study of complex genetic conditions, GWAS, genome sequencing technologies, variant interpretation, gene therapy, stem cell biology, and pharmacogenetics.
