Paulo Freire is one of the most important education scholars of the twentieth century having had a profound impact across academic disciplines and throughout the adult, higher, and K-EDUC 12 educational spheres. Part One of this course explores the development of Freire's pedagogy, from his early years in Brazil and time in exile in Chile and the United States, to his work in Africa, and after 1980, his return to Brazil. Part Two explores Freire's reception, influence, and uptake globally.
