This course is Part III of the year-long proseminar in East Asian humanities designed to introduce first-year EALC students (as well as students from other programs who do East-Asia related work) to the foundational methods, skills, theories, and approaches in the broad interdisciplinary field of East Asian humanities. Part III departs from Parts I&II with an emphasis on theory and a variable syllabus. It is open to students at all stages of their study and may be repeated up to three times.
