Interpretation, analysis, and simulation of nanoscale and atomic resolution experiments. Topics include incoherent and phase contrast imaging, diffraction-based methods for strain, orientation and phase, spectroscopy for chemical analysis, and 3D reconstruction. Interactive learning through lectures and tutorials. Suggested prerequisites: It is recommended that students take MATSCI MATSCI 321 or MATSCI MATSCI 324 prior to enrolling in MATSCI MATSCI 327, but this is not mandatory.
