The global energy system is being remade - and it's remaking the world order with it. This course decodes the feedback loop between energy and geopolitics at a moment of simultaneous disruptions: U.S. energy dominance, China's renewable leadership, and Europe squeezed between decarbonization imperatives and great-power competition. These fault lines, along with AI's surging power demand, are colliding with the collapse of values-based globalism and the rise of hard-edged strategic competition. Students develop conceptual frameworks and fluency in energy geopolitics through IR and IPE theory, AI-assisted analytics, and high-stakes simulations.
