This course introduces Health Equity Scholars to the craft of professional and personal communication. Scholars will focus on writing op-eds that translate complex medical ideas into persuasive, accessible arguments for the public. Students will learn how to identify news hooks, develop a strong voice, write with clarity and impact, and pitch and work with editors. Then we will turn inward, exploring techniques for telling personal stories that connect medicine to human experience. Through guided workshops, peer feedback, and reflective writing, students will craft narratives that bring authenticity and empathy to their communication.
