Preparation for and study towards dissertation under the supervision of a faculty member in the Earth System Science department. Enrollment in these units requires regular meetings with the faculty advisor. Work could include, but is not limited to, reading and discussing literature, formulating, running, and analyzing experiments, writing and presenting of students research, and attendance or presentation at group meetings and seminars. Expectations are set in consultation with supervising faculty member each quarter.
