Effective data management is essential for producing accurate, reproducible, and high-quality research. This course provides a hands-on introduction to data management and basic statistical analysis using both SAS and R, two widely used platforms in health and clinical research. Students will learn to import, organize, clean, validate, and merge datasets, create new variables, and manage research data efficiently. Analytical topics include descriptive statistics and common bivariate methods such as t-tests and chi-square tests. By gaining experience in both SAS and R, students will develop practical skills applicable across academic, clinical, and regulatory research settings.
