The answer is a resounding yes for the Stanford faculty participating in this new one-credit class, "The Book that Changed My Life." Hear what some of Stanford's most popular and distinguished professors have to say on this topic - professors of African & African American Studies; Art & Art History; Bioengineering, genetics, medicine and biomedical data science; History; Literature; Economics; Education, and Law. We will read short works (or excerpts from longer works) by James Baldwin, Charles Baudelaire, Wendell Berry, Anton Chekhov, Sigmund Freud, Homer, James Joyce, Nella Larssen, Norman, Maclean, Herman Melville, Grace Paley, Salman Rushdie, Percy Bysshe Shelley, Mark Twain, and Virginia Woolf. The class will meet Tuesdays 5:ENGLISH 30-6:ENGLISH 30.
