Dynamics of flow, wave and sediment transport processes governing the physical behavior of the coastal ocean. Analysis of the governing physics and application of statistical methods to understand and predict waves, tides, storm surge, sea-level rise, sediment transport, coastal morphology, and estuarine circulation. The course will introduce students to coding methods to analyze real tide and wave datasets with statistical methods, predict the evolution and breaking of waves on a beach, and develop a model of coastal morphology. Prerequisite: PHYSICS CEE 41
