In this interactive BIOS 12-hour workshop, students will learn to use relief printing to create visual aids for scientific communication. We will be guided by the following questions: How can visual arts enable us to convey our scientific endeavors to a broader audience? How does printmaking change our own perspective on our projects? The course will consist of in-class discussions on scientific communication, short presentations, and a hands-on relief printing workshop. At the end of the course, students will complete at least one finished print that they will use as a visual aid to communicate about a scientific project.
