Inspired by the course "How to Rule the World" that Theo Baker discussed in his book, this seminar inverts the question: rather than how to rule, how do we serve? This weekly 2-hour seminar brings Stanford leadership and global experts to explore how individuals create impact. In the first hour, speakers from the fields of education, government, technology, medicine, climate, and social enterprise will share their philosophy of service across three distinct scales: personal (n=1), community (n=BIOE 100), and systemic (n=1,BIOE 000,BIOE 000+). The second hour will be led by DCI Fellows, who will engage with students critically in discussions about making change and guide students in developing their own projects of impact. The course culminates in 1-minute pitches from students to philanthropists on how they plan to serve the world. Food will be provided. Course open for enrollment to Undergrad, MD and other Grad students.
