This course brings prominent Asian American leaders from diverse sectors - including business, technology, sports, arts, public service, and academia - to share personal reflections and insights on effective leadership through the lens of Asian American identity and experience. Guest speakers will discuss their core values, leadership philosophies, and the pivotal moments that shaped their careers. Topics include navigating cultural expectations, breaking stereotypes, leveraging community and heritage, and addressing challenges such as underrepresentation and identity-based bias. Through weekly speaker sessions, reflective writing assignments, directed reading, and facilitated discussions, students will explore their own leadership journeys while gaining a deeper understanding of the Asian American experience in professional and civic life.
